Twelve 4-Hers qualify for district food show competition
TOP FINISHERS — 4-H members were rewarded for their projects in protein, fruits and vegetables, grains and dairy at the Gillespie County 4-H Food Show held Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Gillespie County Extension Office. Twenty-eight young chefs in the area competed in the annual Gillespie County 4-H Food Show on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the Gillespie County Extension Office, with the 12 first-place winners moving on to the district food show in Kerrville on Saturday, Nov. 16.
The 4-H members competed in three age divisions: junior, intermediate and senior.
The students placed as follows:
Junior Protein: 1. Sam O’Leary; 2. Juan Pablo Hinckley; 3. Steele Deike.
Junior Grains: 1. Arianna Watson.
Junior Fruits and Vegetables: 1. Ciara O’Leary.
Junior Dairy: 1. Alexandria Sione.
