Heritage to host 'Flight Night' Friday

By Danny Hirt —

While it might officially be “Flight Night” at Heritage School Friday night when the Eagles host Seguin Lifegate in a six-man football game, there will also be an atmosphere of revenge flying around the Eagles’ Nest.

Lifegate derailed Heritage’s bid for a sixth TAPPS 1A Division II six-man state title last year by toppling the Eagles 60-14 in last December’s championship contest. The visitors also knocked off Heritage during the 2012 regular season.

“There will be no difficulty in getting the boys motivated for this one,” Heritage head coach Tim Shipman said of his players. “This will be a heck of a ball game.”

The coach added that since Lifegate is currently unbeaten in district action, “this is a must-win for us. (With a loss) we would still be able to finish third in the district but would enter the playoffs as a wildcard.”
