Guenther A. (G.A.) Heimann, 95, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Beckmann Funeral Home with the Rev. David Priem officiating. Marjorie Ottmers was the organist and Joyce Priem, the vocalist.
Interment followed in the Meusebach Creek Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday evening at the funeral chapel.
Heimann was born Dec. 27, 1917, in the Bear Creek community of Gillespie County, the son of Edwin A. Heimann and Ida Wunderlich Heimann. He married Iola E. Petermann on Oct. 26, 1940, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, and she survives.
A World War II veteran, Heimann served in the South Pacific in the Army Corp of Engineers.
After the war, he learned to be a jeweler and watch repairman and for over 50 years, operated G.A. Heimann Jeweler.
He served his community as a member of the school board as well as serving as a director for the Hermann Sons Lodge and the Turner Hall.
He was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, Heimann is survived by one daughter, one son and spouses, including Gail and Steven Klein of Fredericksburg and Gary and Donna Heimann of Austin.
Survivors also include four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one sister, Norma Fritz.
Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Lance Klein, Aaron Klein, Eric Heimann, Chris Heimann, Lawton Heimann and Doug Fritz.
Honorary pallbearers were Zane Klein, Lela Klein, Breanna Greer, Brooke Greer, Aiden Heimann and Dennis Henke.
