Golfers begin fall season
The Fredericksburg High School fall golf season is underway with the varsity and junior varsity teams having competed in tournaments.
Both varsity teams took sixth place at their respective tournaments while the JV team finished in first place.
Upcoming matches include JV Red at Seguin’s Starcke Park Golf Course today, beginning at 8 a.m.; JV Red taking on Brennan at the Riverside Golf Course on Monday, Oct. 28, at 8 a.m. and then JV White on Tuesday, Oct. 29, competing against NISD at the Starcke Park Golf Club at 8 a.m.
The golf teams’ head coach is Janie Schneider-Guynes.
Varsity boys take sixth
Against a field of 17 other teams, FHS varsity boys golf competed at the Tivy Tournament at Comanche Trace on Monday, Oct. 21.
The Billies finished in sixth place with 320 points, four points behind fifth-place Boerne and eight points ahead of seventh-place Tivy Blue.
Top Fredericksburg golfers were Cole Grona, who shot a 73; Hudson Ross, 79; Langston James, 82; Tyler Kaman, 86; and Hagan Edwards 97.
