Heritage volelyball tops Castle Hills
By Danny Hirt —
The Heritage School varsity volleyball team split their two matches during the past week, dropping a five-game decision at San Marcos Hill Country on Thursday, Oct. 3, before storming back last night (Tuesday, Oct. 8) to top San Antonio Castle Hills in the Lady Eagles’ final home match of the season.
Heritage (14-3, 9-3) will return to San Antonio for its next contests, first traveling to Rainbow Hills on Thursday and then on to Gateway on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Both matches will begin at 6 p.m.
Castle Hills win
Trailing 2-1 in games, the Lady Eagles kicked it into high gear to sweep the next two contests to defeat San Antonio Castle Hills at home Tuesday night.
After losing the first game 17-25, Heritage tied the match by taking the second contest, 25-20. But Castle Hills was victorious next, 24-26.
However, the Lady Eagles powered to a 25-12 win before grabbing the nightcap by a narrow 15-13 margin.
“The Lady Eagles never relented,” said Heritage head coach Carol Bell shortly after last night’s victory. “Our strategy was to attack hard every set versus our opponents’ main game of tipping.”
