Volleyball defeats 11th ranked Boerne
By Matt Ward —
Undefeated early in their District 27-3A schedule, the Fredericksburg High School varsity volleyball team notched a big win under their belts last night as they rallied to defeat 11th ranked Boerne on the road 25-17, 9-25, 26-24, 23-25, 17-15.
FHS defeated Bandera 25-19, 25-19, 25-15 Friday night at home in the district opener for both schools.
Fredericksburg will travel to Wimberley at 6 p.m., Friday evening, before hosting Navarro Tuesday at 7 p.m.
“I wish it got easier but it does not, not in this district,” Fredericksburg head coach Jason Roemer said. “We defeated #11 tonight in their gym, travel to #4 on Friday and then host #20 on Tuesday. We’re going to have to build off of this win and continue playing well.”

Road win at Boerne
Defeating the 11th ranked Class 3A volleyball team on the road, the Billies rallied back for a 25-17, 9-25, 26-24, 23-25, 17-15 win over Boerne Tuesday.
“Words can’t express how proud I am of these girls. We came to play and it was a total team effort tonight,” Roemer said. “Our backs were against the wall and it felt like we were going to let it slip away. There were a lot of kids who played their hearts out tonight.”
