Heritage football notches 48-0 win

Shaking off the Sept. 20 loss to TAPPS District 4-1A Division II opponent San Antonio Castle Hills, the Heritage Eagles responded by shutting out San Marcos Hill Country Christian 48-0 last Friday.

The Eagles (3-2) earned the victory on their home field.

This Friday, Heritage travels to Division I New Braunfels Christian School. After opening the season with five consecutive home games, this week’s contest is the first road encounter for the Eagles in the 2013 campaign.

Kick-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.


Heritage defeats San Marcos Hill Country

Leading 42-0 after scoring a team safety, Heritage ended the game with 5:43 left in the third period when Jonathan Tucker returned the ensuring kick-off 70 yards for a touchdown, putting the score at 48-0 and ending the contest under the 45-point “Mercy” rule.

The score was the second TD in the game for Tucker. With 58 seconds remaining before intermission, Tucker had powered the ball over from the Hill Country nine-yard line to make the score 40-0.
