Harper football blanks Nueces Canyon 52-0

By dominating every statistical category, Harper was able to control Friday’s football contest from the opening kickoff to the final buzzer as it picked up a one-sided 52-0 non-district home victory over Nueces Canyon.
Now sporting a 3-2 record, the Longhorns will take this Friday off as they prepare for the District 14-1A Division I season which begins Oct. 11 when they travel to Mason. Starting time for that game is set for 7:30 p.m.
Win over Nueces Canyon
Harper’s game plan clicked on all cylinders as it ground out 337 rushing yards on 37 attempts while adding another 84 yards through the air in last Friday’s 52-0 victory over Nueces Canyon.
Leading rusher for the Longhorns was Jayden Baumann who gained 147 yards on 16 carries, scoring two touchdowns in the process. Easton Hansen added another 97 ground yards on five rushes, tallying another TD to the Harper cause.
HHS quarterback Gus Sagraves collected 50 yards on the ground and completed four of 10 passes for another 84 yards and three touchdowns.
