By Danny Hirt —
Heritage School picked up two more district wins in TAPPS volleyball action during the past week.
Following Saturday’s three-game sweep at San Angelo Cornerstone, the Lady Eagles continued their winning ways last night by topping San Antonio Town East 25-15, 25-23 and 25-13.
On Thursday, Sept. 26, Heritage travels to San Antonio New Life for a 6 p.m. district volleyball match, then returns home on Tuesday, Oct. 1, to face Seguin Lifegate, also slated to start at 6 p.m. in Fredericksburg’s First Baptist Church gymnasium.
Town East win
The Lady Eagles ran their district record to 6-2 by defeating San Antonio Town East in a home match played Tuesday evening.
After taking the first contest 25-15, Heritage held off its opponent in the second game 25-23, then powered back for a 25-13 decision in the third to secure the match victory.
Savannah Morrow registered 12 point serves, with teammate Sarah Andrews accounting for another 10. Christina Harpold recorded 10 assists.
While Heritage head coach Carol Bell cited the play of her team last night, she said there’s room for improvement. “Overall, the team played well together, but must cut down on the errors to place first in district this second round,” she said.
