Equipment thefts have officers turning to public for info

Several thousands of dollars’ worth in landscaping equipment and chainsaws were reported stolen over the past week and local law enforcement officers are turning to the community to help solve those crimes.

Theft – Sept. 5

On Thursday, Sept. 5, a theft was reported at 603 Town Creek Court, where an unknown suspect or suspects made entry into a parked landscaping trailer sometime between 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, and 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, and stole the following pieces of equipment valued at approximately $3,375.66 in all:

• An Echo gas attachment trimmer (Model No. PAS230 and Serial No. S75212024354) valued at $303;

• An Echo gas trimmer (Model No. SRM225  and Serial No. S03912442971) valued at $238;

• An Echo gas trimmer (Model No. SRM225 and Serial No. S03912816247) valued at $220, with an Edge It disc on it valued at $90;

• A Stihl Back Pack Blower (Model No. BR550 and Serial No. 284989380) valued at $399.

• An Echo chainsaw attachment (Model No. 99944200532) valued at around $205.66.

• An Echo Power Dome 400 valued at around $175;

• A 65-piece Craftsman toolset valued at $60;

• A Craftsman Ratchet Wrench set valued at $60;

• A five-gallon gas can valued at $30, plus it was filled with $20 in gasoline;

• A two and a half-gallon gas can valued at $20 containing approximately $8 in gasoline;

• An Echo gas trimmer (Model No. SRM230 and Serial No. S73112184562) valued at $280;

• An Echo hedger attachment (Model No. 99944200485 and Serial No. S07100005081) valued at $166;

• An Echo gas attachment trimmer (Model No. PAS265 and Serial No. S8631209939) valued at $325;

• An Echo blower/vacuum (Model No. E52160 and Serial No. 557940) valued at $216;

• An Echo handheld blower (Model No. PB251 and Serial No. P09012005258) valued at $150, and,

• A Stihl chainsaw in an orange Stihl case (Model No. 025 with partial Serial Number (last four digits No. 9040) valued at $500.
