Volleyball Defeats Llano On Road
By Matt Ward —
After a 2-6 performance at the Smithson Valley tournament over the weekend, the Fredericksburg High School varsity volleyball team got back on the winning track with a four-set victory at Llano Tuesday evening.
Fredericksburg will host Lampasas Friday evening and Liberty Hill Tuesday night for Parents’ Night. Both contests are slated to begin at 6 p.m.
“Considering the injuries we’ve had and the inexperience we’ve had in the line ups, coupled with the tough schedule we’ve been playing,” Fredericksburg head coach Jason Roemer said Tuesday, “I like the direction we’re headed. I told them tonight after the game that the season is a journey full of ups and downs and it’s about getting up after getting knocked down.”
Win over Llano
Last night, the Billies defeated Llano on the road 23-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-14 to improve to 13-13 on the season.
“The match had the intensity of a district or a playoff match,” Roemer said. “It was a great experience for our kids to be playing in a close set with lots of kids rooting against them at the service line.”
