Gillespie County Commissioners on Monday implemented a 90-day burn ban for Gillespie County. Also, Commissioners approved five-sevenths ($222,326) of the Hotel Occupancy Tax Funds for the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau.
In commemoration of the 105th birthday of President Lyndon B. Johnson, the LBJ State Park and Historic Site and the LBJ National Historical Park at Stonewall have planned several special activities for today. A wreath laying ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. this morning at the grave of President Johnson at the Johnson Family Cemetery. At the LBJ State Park, visitors can watch a film on LBJ, tour the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm, participate in old-time family games and see how the president spent his childhood in the Hill Country.

Fredericksburg High School volleyball teams will be back on the courts tonight when they host Boerne Champion in the FHS Gym. The freshmen and JV both play at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity plays at 6:30 p.m.
The Harper volleyball teams will be on the road to Sabinal tonight. The JV White plays at 4 p.m., the JV green at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 6 p.m.
