Harper volleyball tops Ingram Tuesday
It was a tight squeeze, but the Harper High School varsity volleyball team managed to pull out a 3-0 victory over visiting Ingram Tuesday evening in non-district action.
After taking the first game by a 25-21 margin, the Ladyhorns remained hot, taking the second contest by a 26-24 score before winning the match with a 25-14 victory in the final game.
Harper (6-4) will next take part in Friday’s tournament action in Junction before traveling to Sabinal on Tuesday. Tuesday’s game starts at 6 p.m. Earlier in the day, the HHS “White” and “Green” junior varsity teams will square off against their Sabinal counterparts at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
Harper also participated in a tournament at Copperas Cove last weekend, dropping the championship match to Georgetown Eastview by scores of 20-25 and 20-25.
Earlier in the competition, the Ladyhorns opened by losing to Eastview 14-25, 25-15, 19-25, but came back to defeat Copperas Cove 25-19 and 25-19.
