Volleyball cruises to win over Marble Falls
By Matt Ward —
Dominating the net, the Fredericksburg High School varsity volleyball team cruised to a three set road win Tuesday, Aug. 13, over Marble Falls — 25-10, 25-16, 25-13.
Fredericksburg will compete in the Austin ISD tournament this weekend. Pool play begins tomorrow, Aug. 15, when the Billies will face Austin Travis at 10 a.m., Killeen Shoemaker at noon and Austin High at 2 p.m.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Fredericksburg will head back on the road to face La Vernia at 6 p.m.
“The kids are having fun right now,” said head coach Jason Roemer. “We have the ability to play at a pretty high level and all the smiles and laughter makes the tough times better and especially makes the sore bodies not feel so bad this week.”
“It’s a fun time right now because all our focus is on athletics,” he added. “When school starts, we scale back the matches and tournaments to help them manage both sides of the academics and athletics.”
