Harper volleyball splits matches at Brackett

The Harper varsity volleyball team split matches Tuesday evening, downing host Brackett in three straight games — 25-12, 25-20, 25-19 — before dropping three close games to Del Rio — 21-25, 20-25, 23-25.

The Ladyhorns (1-2) will next take part in the Copperas Cove Tournament tomorrow, Aug. 15. They are first scheduled to play Rockdale at 9 a.m.

Following that tourney, the girls will host Ingram in the Harper Gymnasium, beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

During Tuesday’s matches, Taylor Reid led the way with 16 kills and 29 assists, while teammate Macie Lumpkins added another 24 assists.

Sarah Whitten put in an 11-of-11 effort from the service line in the match with Del Rio. Also against Del Rio, Courtney Arhns registered 18 digs.
