Eagle volleyball to host OLH Friday
By Danny Hirt —
Heritage School’s volleyball team opened its 2013 season with a home win last night, Aug. 13, after capturing three of its four games against visiting Austin Waldorf.
The Lady Eagles edged their visitors 25-23 in the first contest, dropped a 22-25 decision in the second, but rallied in the next two contests, 26-24 and 25-21.
Heritage will face Our Lady of the Hills (OLH) Friday, Aug. 16, in the Fredericksburg First Baptist Church gymnasium. The junior varsity teams will face-off at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity match at 7 p.m.
Lady Eagles’ head coach Carol Bell was impressed with her team’s performance.
“The outcome of our first match of the season against this same team last year was very different. Waldorf killed us in their tournament, but what a difference these Lady Heritage Eagle athletes showed them tonight,” Bell said. “The level of play compared to last season is a caliber higher and sure to entertain their audience this season!” she added.
