BEVERLY ANN OEHLER

Beverly Ann Oehler, 70, of Harper, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, in Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. in the Harper United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neal Matthews officiating. Peggy Ernst was the organist.

Interment followed in the Harper City Cemetery.

Beckmann Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 9.

Ms. Oehler was born Nov. 3, 1942, in Dallas, the daughter of David Hall and Daisy Akins Hall.

She enjoyed cooking and she had several jobs in food service from serving as a school cafeteria cook to running her own diner, Bev’s Kuntry Kitchen, which she operated until her health forced her to retire.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Carrie Oehler of Harper and Robert and Vita Oehler of Bryan; her father and step-mother, David and Gene Hall of Athens; one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.

Other survivors include two brothers and their spouses, Bruce and Cathy Hall of Tyler and Ronnie and Linda Hall of Athens, and a sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Dana Dugan of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Karl Oehler; her mother, Daisy Scott, and her step-father, Adrian Scott.

Memorials may be made to the Harper Volunteer Fire Department/EMS or the charity of choice.

Pallbearers were Bubba Esquell, Dennis Land, Javier Rangel, Robbie Walker, Steve Oehler and Kelly Wanner.
