Food Pantry in new home
The Fredericksburg Food Pantry is now helping local families from its new facility at 701 Mustang Street.
A ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday with the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors marked the official opening of the 3,000-square-foot building.
“Thank you. We’re here,” said Tommy Moose, president of the board of directors of the Fredericksburg Food Pantry.
“But don’t forget us. We still need to feed the people of Gillespie County and we need to fill the shelves back up,” Moose said. “Don’t slow down.”
He added, “We need to thank the City of Fredericksburg and all of those who donated to help make this possible.”
“Fredericksburg and Gillespie County got behind us and we got this done.”
The Fredericksburg Food Pantry moved into its new home from North Llano Street the last week of June.
The 40x75-foot building “conforms to our needs,” Moose said.
