GOLD STAR AWARDS — Winning the highest awards given at the county level and presented at the 2013 Gillespie County 4-H Awards Banquet on Thursday night were Rachel Howell and Mattie Lastovica. Recognition of the achievements and successes of local youth highlighted the 2013 Gillespie County 4-H Awards Banquet on Thursday night.

The program and catered barbecue dinner were held at the Gillespie County Farm Bureau Events Center.

Among the honors presented were the Gold Star Awards to Rachel Howell and Mattie Lastovica.

As part of the evening, the new 2013-2014 Gillespie County 4-H Council officers were installed including Mackenzie Spisak, president; Kasie Vestal, vice president; Baylie Vogel, secretary; Dylan Sione, reporter; Braden Bowers, parliamentarian, and Elaine Lochte and Mason DeLong, council delegates.

A slide presentation by Lochte was also given.

Serving as mistress of ceremonies was Mattie Lastovica, the current council president.

The 2012-2013 council officers, including Braden Bowers, vice president; Lainey Bourgeois, secretary; Elaine Lochte, reporter; Mason DeLong, parliamentarian, and Kasie Vestal and Baylie Vogel, served as announcers during the program.
