Daily Update for Tuesday, July 23


  • Gillespie County Commissioners meeting in regular session on Monday took care of some routine business. Among the agenda items, they approved various insurance policies for county employees, purchased cattle guards and accepted book donations to Pioneer Memorial Library.
  • Stonewall Heritage Society will hold its quarterly meeting tonight starting at 7 p.m. at the Stonewall Heritage Center. Esther Lehmann of Fredericksburg will present the program.
  • "Dance Team Camp" for youth in kindergarten through eighth grade begins today and continues through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The camp is sponsored by the Fredericksburg Independent School District Community Education.
  • FISD Community Education's "Battlin' Billies Pre-Season Football Camp" for seventh and eighth graders begins tonight and continues through Thursday. The camp takes place from 6-8 p.m. at the FHS Field House.
  • "Battlin' Billies Football Boot Camp" for ninth graders opens tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the FHS Field House. Sponsored by FISD Community Education, the camp will continue through Thursday.
  • Students of all ages can get a solid foundation in personal computer skills with the FISD Community Education class "Computers For Beginners" that starts tonight and continues on Wednesday and Thursday from 6-3:80 p.m. at Fredericksburg Elementary School. The class continues next week, Tuesday through Thursday. Anyone interested can still sign up.
  • "Quickbooks For Beginners" is the topic for a FISD Community Education class that begins today and continues through Thursday. The class will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Fredericksburg Elementary School. There are a few openings in the class so interested persons can call Community Ed to sign up.
