Texas Fest brings horse racing, chili cookoff
Live pari-mutuel horse racing returns to the Gillespie County Fair Grounds on Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21, with the Texas Fest Race Meet.
Sponsored by the Gillespie County Fair and Festivals Association, the weekend will also include a CASI-sanctioned chili cook-off on both Saturday and Sunday.
And while the fair association is sponsoring its horse races, the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its 50th annual Night In Old Fredericksburg celebration on Friday and Saturday, July 19-20, at Marktplatz.
To celebrate the two events, those who purchase admission to the Texas Fest Race Meet will be admitted free to Night In Old Fredericksburg and those who purchase admission to NIOF will be admitted to the race meet at no charge.
Admission to the races is $5 for adults, $3 for children six to 15 years of age and free for children under six. Box seats are $9.
Texas Fest Race Meet
