Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Night In Old Fredericksburg will be held Friday and Saturday, July 19-20, at Marktplatz.

Sponsored by the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce, NIOF began in 1963 as a one-time fundraiser produced by the chamber to generate funds to send the local high school marching band to an out-of-state competition.

Gates will open Friday, July 19, at 6 p.m., with music from The Walburg Boys.  At 9 p.m., The Wagon Aces will take the stage.

The festival will reopen at 4 p.m., Saturday, July 20, with the TubaMeisters and The Polkamatics providing a blend of German polkas, waltzes and ballets.

From 8:30-10 p.m., singer/songwriter Thomas Michael Riley will take the stage.   Headliner Max Stalling will perform from 10:15 p.m. to midnight.

To celebrate the festival’s special anniversary, the chamber has produced a limited edition commemorative pin. The pin will be available as part of a CLUB 50 membership at a cost of $50.

CLUB 50 membership includes the commemorative pin, a two-day festival wristband, a Night In Old Fredericksburg souvenir item, special designated seating with air coolers and a reception during the festival hours.

CLUB 50 memberships are available at 997-6523 or at [email protected].
