Pari-mutuel horse racing season begins Saturday

Kicking off the 2013 summer season at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds will be the July Fourth Weekend Racing Festival on Saturday and Sunday, July 6-7.

In addition to the two days of live pari-mutuel horse racing, the weekend will also include an evening concert and dance on the outdoor pavilion on Saturday.

The eight-day 2013 summer season at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds features live pari-mutuel horse racing over four weekends at the local five-eighths mile oval.

Along with the live pari-mutuel horse racing, the summer will also see the 125th Gillespie County Fair in August.

The summer season events are sponsored by the Gillespie County Fair and Festivals Association, Inc.
