Mrs. Lynden Maurer


Mrs. Lynden Maurer, 72, nee Barbara Jean Loth of Fredericksburg, died Friday, May 17, 2013.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, May 22, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist and Jackie Kunz, the vocalist.

Private interment of the cremains will take place at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil and rosary service led by Deacon Patrick Klein were held Tuesday evening, May 21.

Mrs. Maurer was born Aug. 30, 1940, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Adolph Henry Loth and Amalia Mathilda Lang Loth. She married Lynden Maurer on March 1, 1960, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.

Mrs. Maurer is survived by two daughters, one son and spouses, including Denise and Bruce Reeh and Kevin and Nita Maurer, all of Fredericksburg, and Stephanie and Danny Schroat of Atkins.

Survivors also include nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by two brothers, two sisters and spouses, including Leroy and Lillie Loth of Hallettsville; Shirley and Calvin Moehle and David and Janet Loth, all of Fredericksburg; and Mary and Nelson Cavin of Schertz.

Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Lucille Scharnhorst of Blanco; Beatrice Hacker, Boerne, and Lorene Pfiester, San Antonio.

 In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Maurer was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Daniel Reeh and Amanda Reeh; a sister, Carolyn Gold, and a brother, Stanley Loth.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.
