Harper High plans May 31 ceremony

Getting an early start on the graduation season, Harper High School will hold its commencement exercises on Friday, May 31, in the HHS gymnasium.

The event comes two weeks after the school celebrated its baccalaureate service on May 19 at St. James Lutheran Church.

The seniors’ procession will start at 7 p.m. with the students filing into the arena in pairs.

In all, 48 12th graders are scheduled to receive their diplomas.

This year’s valedictorian is Alexa Guerrero, with salutatory honors going to Hector Jacobo. Both will address their fellow graduating seniors as well as those who attend the commencement ceremonies.
