Art Guild presents awards in annual juried exhibition
Winners in the Fredericksburg Art Guild’s 10th annual juried art exhibit, entitled “What I Like about Texas,” were announced during an awards reception held at the guild headquarters on East Austin Street on May 3.
First place winners in the various categories were: Anita Smith (Drawing and Printmaking), Nancy Martin (Painting), Fritz Ozona (Photography), and Laurie Mahling (Sculpture/Mixed Media).
The “Best of Show” honor went to Debbie Luce Minns for her pastel, “Hill Country Bouquet.”
Juror for the show was Kathleen Cook, a member of the Pastel Society of America and Who’s Who in American Art. She was on hand at the awards reception to hand out prizes and ribbons.
Fredericksburg Mayor Jeryl Hoover opened the ceremonies.
Artwork will be on display at the guild through June 2.
The event was sponsored by the Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance/Oktoberfest and through Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funds from the City of Fredericksburg.
