Rules announced for Peach JAMboree baking, preserve contests
With the Stonewall Peach JAMboree and Rodeo just around the corner on June 21-22, the rules for the 2013 Baking, Preserves and Salsa Contests have been announced.
Sponsored by the Stonewall Chamber of Commerce, the contest includes peach pies, cobblers, preserves and salsas.
Following are the general rules and information for the contests which will be judged on Saturday, June 22.
•All entries are to be brought to the Stonewall Chamber Building, located at 250 Peach Street, between 8:30-10 a.m. on Saturday, June 22.
Judging begins at 10:45 a.m., and winning entries may be viewed at about 1 p.m. at the Stonewall Chamber Building.
•There is no entry fee.
•No commercial entries will be accepted.
•All entries become the property of the Stonewall Chamber of Commerce.
•The contest deadline is Saturday, June 22, at 10 a.m.
•Top entries in all four categories will be auctioned off on Saturday afternoon during the Peach Auction, and all proceeds will go to the Stonewall Chamber of Commerce.
•Prizes will be awarded in each category, including $150 and a plaque for first; $125 for second; $100 for third, and $75 for fourth.
