Peggy Jo Hull Thompson

September 21, 1929 ~ May 14, 2013

Peggy Jo Hull Thompson of Fredericksburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 14, 2013 surrounded by family.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1929 in Cleburne, Texas to Lester Norman Hull and Faye Edwards Hull. She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education and retired from teaching after more than 30 years. She married H.L. Thompson Jr. on March 9, 1957.

Peggy devoted her life to educating her children her grandchildren and the children of others. After moving to Fredericksburg, she helped make Eisbahn, a holiday outdoor ice skating rink to benefit cystic fibrosis, a reality.

Peggy was an avid reader of novels, she loved to work crossword puzzles and enjoyed cooking.

A woman of faith, one of her favorite passages was Deuteronomy 31:18, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you: he will never leave or forsake you. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged.”

Mrs. Peggy Jo Hull Thompson is survived by her three children: son, David Thompson of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Dr. Nancy Thompson and her husband, Danny, of Fredericksburg, TX; son, Gary Thompson and his wife, Lynda, of Jamestown, NC; grandchildren: Rachel Thompson of Jamestown, NC; Courtney Thompson of Fredericksburg; Julia Thompson of Jamestown, NC, and Conor Thompson of Fredericksburg.

She is preceded in death by her husband, H.L. Thompson; her parents, Lester N. Hull and Faye Edwards Hull.

A private family service was held in her honor.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Hill Country Memorial Hospice.
