Holding a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the sixth frame on Saturday, it began to look like Harper might force a third game in the best-of-three UIL Region IV 1-A baseball series.

But extending the playoff just wasn’t in the cards as Center Point stormed back with seven runs in the last of the sixth frame to eliminate the Longhorns, 7-2.

The Pirates had defeated Harper by a 10-3 margin Thursday evening to begin the series.

Both games were played on the Fredericksburg High School diamond.

Center Point will advance in post-season action to face Flatonia in the regional semifinals later this week.
