Darryl James Weisenbaugh, 63, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at University Hospital in San Antonio.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m. at Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship in Johnson City with interment following in the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City where visitation was held Friday evening, May 10.
Weisenbaugh was born May 1, 1950, in Wayne, Mich., the son of George and Marion Weisenbaugh. He married Sharon Russell on Nov. 9, 1968, and she survives.
A 1968 graduate of John Glenn High School, Weisenbaugh served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 9, 1969, until Nov. 13, 1971, and was deployed to Korea. He was discharged as a Specialist 5, wheeled vehicle mechanic.
Weisenbaugh worked for General Motors in Detroit, Mich., until 1981 when he moved to Johnson City. He owned the Phillips 66 service station and a subsequent auto repair shop.
He later became employed as the fleet manager/bus maintenance supervisor for Lyndon B. Johnson National Park Service in Stonewall, where he retired after 19 years of service.
In his retirement years, Weisenbaugh opened a small engine business in Johnson City.
In addition to his wife, Weisenbaugh is survived by one daughter, one son and spouses, Rebecca and Timothy Moreland and Mike and Sarah Weisenbaugh; three grandchildren, and six siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
