Handmade Arts, Crafts Showing Saturday

Local artisans and craftsmen from throughout the Hill Country will be offering handmade décor and more at the 23rd annual St. Joseph’s Halle Craft Show Saturday.

The free show runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Halle, 212 West San Antonio Street.

Fredericksburg participants in the show include Carol Beth Zenner, with her whimsical handmade cloth dolls and textile gift items; Carol Cockrell, who will be bringing hand-knitted sweaters, clothing and cowboy Santas; David and Sharon Fiedler, with decorative wooden items and holiday decor; Reuben Heinemann, who makes handcrafted swings, gliders and patio chairs; Debbie Freitag, with hand-created lotions, soaps and spa items, Georgia Davis and friends with their soy candles and Monroe Behrends with granite tiles featuring hand-carved local sites.

Audelle Burkey of Doss makes handcrafted gemstone jewelry and Ric Smith of Hye offers wooden furniture and decorative items while Lucy McGraw of Stonewall will be selling hand-crocheted dishcloths and other items.

Other vendors from Comfort, Kerrville, Bertram, Round Rock, San Antonio, Pflugerville and Leander will be offering items for sale.

Handcrafted birdhouses, mosaic-stained glass, fall items and Christmas décor, pecans and cooking oils, decorative picture frames, hand-crafted folk-art dolls, Halloween items and more will be for sale.

The next St. Joseph’s Halle Craft Show will be Saturday, Dec. 13, the day of the Gillespie County Historical Society Homes Tour. Visitors and the community are invited to shop for gifts for the holiday season.
